Adams State College Athletics
Since
its cornerstone was laid in 1923, Adams State College grew from a teachers' college into a fine liberal arts college.
Today, students can earn a bachelor's degree in any of 16 majors, with 28 minors and emphases. Adams State enrolls
approximately 1,996 undergraduate students from 29 states and territories and 6 foreign countries. In addition
to its undergraduate programs, Adams State offers Masters of Art degrees through five departments: Arts, Counselor
Education, Graduate Teacher Education, History, Government and Philosophy, and Human Performance and Physical Education.
Adams State students receive supportive mentoring and individual attention due to small class size (57% of all
classes have 20 students or fewer) and a faculty committed to superior classroom teaching. Students are encouraged
to become involved in the campus community and given the freedom to discover their talents and strengths. Adams
State College is proud to have received Program of Excellence awards in Biology, Business, Music, and Graduate
Counseling by the state of Colorado.
Adams State is located in Alamosa, Colorado (in the San Luis Valley, the largest
alpine basin in North America). Surrounded by the beautiful Sangre de Cristo and San Juan mountain ranges, Adams
State College is the perfect place to study, work, and live.
Adams State College is a NCAA Division II school and
member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
