Alfred State College Athletics
Alfred State College (ASC), a member of the technology sector within the State University of New York (SUNY), is ideally suited to purposeful, action-oriented and goal-oriented students. Students get a head start on their academic careers, as Alfred’s programs and teaching methods focus on providing intensive, hand-on, usable, real world learning. ASC offers outstanding educational opportunities in its nearly 60 associate degree program, 13 baccalaureate degree programs, and seven certificate programs.
ASC is located in Alfred, NY in the beautiful southern Tier, 70 miles south of Rochester and 90 miles southeast of Buffalo. ASC has an enrollment of 3,500 students, with a student to faculty ration of 20:1.
ASC is a member of and competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association NJCAA), Region III of the NJCAA, the Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC), and the Northeast Football Conference.

Recent Highlights:
- The Alfred State College swim team concluded the 2005 portion of their season with a great performance at the Genesee CC Holiday Invitational. The men's team took home the title with 305 points while the women finished 3rd with 79 points.
- The 2005 Alfred State College men’s cross country team finished 6th in the country and 3rd in Region III while the women’s team finished 7th in the country and 4th in Region III.
- The 2005 Alfred State College men’s soccer team continued their climb up the Region III Division III rankings. The Pioneers qualified for their 5th straight Region III Tournament and advanced to the quarterfinals for the 4th year in the past five years with a 12-7 (11-5 Region III Division III play) record.
- During the 2004-2005 school year, nine of ASC's eighteen sports teams finished fourth or higher in Region III play. At the NJCAA National Level the men's cross country team finished 4th in the nation, the women's cross country team finished 6th, the men's outdoor track & field team finished 7th, the women's swim team finished 8th, the men's swim team and the lacrosse team finished 9th, and the women's outdoor track & field team finished 10th. The men's indoor and outdoor track & field team finished as regional runner-up while the women's swim team and the women's cross country team finished 3rd in Region III competition. Alfred State also had 11 student athletes named NJCAA All-American, 32 named All-Region, and 26 named All-Conference.
