Dickinson College Athletics
Dickinson
College founded September 9, 1783, was the first chartered college in
the United States. The college is located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania,
which is a small, college town found in comfortable central Pennsylvania
and just a few short driving hours from the major east coast cities.
Dickinson students complete a four-year program of study in the liberal
arts. There is a diverse range of academic disciplines at Dickinson
including: American studies, anthropology, archaeology, art & art
history, biochemistry and molecular biology, biology, chemistry, classical
studies, computer science, dance and music, East Asian studies, economics,
English, environmental science, environmental studies, French, geology,
German, history, international business and management, international
studies, Italian, Italian studies, Judaic studies, mathematics, medieval
and early modern studies, music, philosophy, physics, policy studies,
political science, psychology, religion, Russian, Russian area studies,
sociology, Spanish, theatre arts, theatrical design, women's studies.
The athletic teams at Dickinson College compete in the NCAA Division
III Centennial Conference and the Eastern College Athletic Conference.

Recent Highlights:
- The Women's cross-country team posted their second consecutive Centennial
Conference championship in 2001 and their fourth title in the last
five years. Women's coach Don Nichter was named the 2001 Mideast Region
Coach of the Year following the Red Devil's conference championship
and second place finish at the Regional Championships.
- Junior forward Alyssa Carlow became Dickinson College's Women's
soccer all-time leading scorer, netting her 44th career goal in a
game against Johnson & Wales on September 13, 2002.
- The Dickinson College men's and women's swimming teams were once
again recognized for academic excellence by the College Swimming Coaches
of America. The Red Devil teams have accomplished an excellent (3.00
or better) or superior (3.25 or better) rating for each of the last
13 semesters.
- Sophomore Alex Forte set a Centennial Conference and Dickinson school
record while winning the women's 1500 meters at the 2001 ECAC Indoor
Track and Field Championships in 4:38.14.
- The Dickinson College women's indoor track & field team won their
fourth straight Centennial Conference Championship in 2002. The women
also won their fourth consecutive outdoor track and field Conference
Championship in 2002.
