Drew University Athletics
Drew
is a close-knit, highly selective university located on almost 200 wooded
acres in the foothills of northern New Jersey, 30 miles from New York
City and five minutes from Morristown, NJ, the military capital of the
Revolutionary War. With a total enrollment of 2,400 men and women, the
university has a reputation for excellence and innovation. Its undergraduate
college is recognized as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the
nation. Drew's campus is primarily residential and most of its more
than 1,500 undergraduates and the majority of its Caspersen Graduate
Students and Theological school students live on campus. Started as
a Methodist seminary in 1867, Drew is today an independent university
of distinction with an abiding belief in the liberal arts and the use
of technology in support of teaching and learning.
Drew's academic program remains grounded in the liberal arts, even
as it has evolved to meet the changing needs of students and the larger
society. Here students learn to sharpen their skills of inquiry, research,
analysis, and communication, and learn to place individual subjects
into larger contexts. Majors offered include Anthropology, Art, Behavioral
Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Classics, Computer Science,
Economics, English, French, German, History, Mathematics, Mathematics
and Computer Science, Music, Neurosciences, Philosophy, Physics, Political
Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Russian, Sociology, Spanish,
Theatre Arts and Women’s Studies. Drew offers a variety of special
academic programs including Dual-Degree Medical Program , Dual-Degree
Programs in Engineering and Applied Science , Pre-Law, Pre-Medicine,
Pre-Business, International and Off-Campus Study, and Academic Internships.
The athletic teams at Drew University compete in the NCAA Division
III Middle Atlantic Conference.

Recent Highlights:
- Baseball’s Bob Phillips was named Verizon Regional Academic
All-American.
- Mike Machin earned both Freedom Conference All-Academic Team honors
and the Larry Horner Athletic Leadership Award.
- Fencing’s Hannah Eldridge was named NIWFA Scholar-Athlete.
- Field Hockey’s Kara Fetter was named STX/NFHCA National All-American,
second team.
- Kara Fetter, also a lacrosse player, earned IWLCA National All-American
honors.
- Men’s soccer coach, Lenny Armuth, was named NSCAA Mid-Atlantic
Region Coach of the Year.
- Softball’s Colleen Mahon was named Regional All-American.
- Men’s tennis coach Ira Miller was awarded the Freedom Conference
Coach of the Year.
