Recent Highlights:

  • Florida Southern is the 2007 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Champion.  Leading the Division II tournament from start to finish, the Lady Moccasins won by 10 strokes over defending champion Rollins to claim FSC's fourth national title in women's golf.

  • Golf coach Head coach Robbie Davis has been named 2007 Division II National Coach of the Year by the National Golf Coaches Association. It's the second time Davis has received the NGCA Coach of the Year Award; he previously won in 2002. In addition to being named National Coach of the Year, he also was named South Region Coach of the Year. He had previously won the South Region award in 2004.

  • The Florida Southern baseball team has nine NCAA National Championships: 1971, 1972, 1975, 1978, 1981, 1985, 1988, 1995 and 2005. They also hold 17 Sunshine State Conference Championships and 20 NCAA Regional Championships.

  • The cross country team has made three appearances in the NCAA National Championships: 2004, 2005 and 2006 and holds 11 Sunshine State Conference Championships.

  • Strong performances by all six of Florida Southern's spring sports teams helped produce a top ten finish for the Moccasins in the final Division II standings for the 2006-07 U.S. Sports Academy Directors Cup. Four national top five finishes, topped by a national championship in women's golf, boosted FSC into 10th place, giving the school its highest finish since the 1999-2000 school year, when FSC was fourth.

  • The Moccasins' Megan Brown is the recipient of the Sunshine State Conference's top two awards for the 2006-07 school year. The senior from Carrollton, Ga., is the SSC Female Athlete of the Year and the SSC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is just the second student-athlete in SSC history to receive both awards in the same year. Brown earned virtually pitching honor possible during her sensational four-year career for FSC. This season, for the second straight year, she was a first-team NFCA All-America selection, as well as a first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America selection.  She was the SSC Pitcher of the Year for the third time in her career, the only player in SSC history to receive that honor three times. This season she led the Moccasins to a 51-15 record, the SSC and NCAA South Region championships and a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championship.

  • The Florida Southern volleyball team holds three Sunshine State Conference Championships and four NCAA regional championships.

  • The final 2007 FILA rankings have the men’s tennis Moccasins ranked 15th in Division II and Michael Knoedler ranked third in singles, which gives him ITA All-America status; the women’s tennis team is ranked eighth in Division II. The Lady Mocs were 21-5 and tied for fifth at the NCAA Division II Championship. This set a school record for winning percentage (.807) and tied the school record for wins in a season.
