FSU
is a comprehensive, residential and coeducational institution of over
37,000 students located in Tallahassee, Florida. The University combines
a dedication to undergraduate education with extensive graduate programs
and research. We invite you to explore the many facets of our university.
The colleges and schools offer courses of study in 26 major disciplines.
In addition to the associate in arts certificate they now offer 94 authorized
baccalaureate degree programs covering 194 fields, 104 authorized master's
degree programs covering 200 fields, 1 authorized advanced master's
degree program covering 1 field, 27 specialist degree programs covering
34 fields, two authorized professional degree programs covering nine
fields, and 72 authorized doctoral degree programs covering 137 fields.
Through the Center for Professional Development & Public Service,
the university also conducts off-campus credit courses and degree programs
as well as non-credit programs, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
FSU offers 16 undergraduate schools and over 200 majors, with the flexibility
to pursue a double major and partake of cooperative education experiences.
FSU’s international programs allows students to travel overseas
to participate in formal programs in places like Europe, South America,
and Asia. The University Honors Program is a comprehensive curriculum
of special classes and extracurricular activities that creates a small
college atmosphere within the heart of a major university. The University
Honors Program focuses on intellectually stimulating courses taught
by the university’s leading faculty. Most of the more than eighty
honors courses offered each academic year have fewer than 25 students,
enabling frequent interaction and dialogue with professors.
The athletic teams at Florida State University compete in the NCAA
Division I Atlantic Coast Conference.

Recent Highlights:
- Florida State freshmen Ryne Malone and relief pitcher Brian Schultz
were named Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-Americans Friday afternoon.
Sophomore outfielder/designated hitter Eddy Martinez-Esteve and junior
shortstop Stephen Drew already earned All-America honors earlier this
month by the publication.
- Freshman Jaclyn Burch led Florida State with a career-low 72 in
the fourth and final round and the Seminoles finished in a tie for
19th place in the team standings at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship
at Grand National Golf Course. It marked the second consecutive season
the Seminoles finished in the nation's top 20 after also finishing
in a tie for 19th place at the 2003 National Championship.
- College Football Preview picks the Top 25 individual units in the
country and FSU's finished among their best at receiver (third), defensive
back (fourth), offensive line (fifth), defensive line (fifth), quarterback
(12th), running back (12th) and special teams (21st). It goes on to
list the Top 60 players at each position. FSU's top 10 finishers on
their lists were Alex Barron as the nation's top offensive tackle,
Craphonso Thorpe as the third best receiver, Jerome Carter at fifth
among strong safeties and Chris Rix seventh at quarterback.
- Women’s soccer’s Kristin Boyce leads all Florida State
defenders with eight goals and 20 points in her career. She loves
to attack and it is one of the things that separate her from other
defenders across the country.
- Matt Adcock, a rising senior on the Florida State University men's
golf team, has been named to the 2004 Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar
Athlete team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
- Seminole softball player Jessica van der Linden took another step
towards being named the top female collegiate athlete in the nation
Wednesday when she was named a top five finalist for the Honda Broderick
Cup. van der Linden was one of 12 female athletes that qualified for
the award when she was named the Honda Award winner for softball.
- Florida State sophomore Lacy Janson won the NCAA Indoor National
title in the women's pole vault Saturday with a NCAA record vault
of 14-07.25. Janson, a three-time ACC champion (Indoor- 2002 &
2003, Outdoor- 2002), earned her third All-America honor (2002 Indoor
and Outdoor) to go along with her national title.
