Gannon University Athletics
Gannon University, founded in 1925, is a private, Catholic, comprehensive co-educational institution with a total enrollment of 3,400 full- and part-time students.Gannon is located on the bayfrom in Erie, Pennsylvania’s fourth largest city. Key to Gannon’s mission is the personal and professional development of students. Leadership is fostered through a range of campus organizations and activities which enhance academic interests as well as volunteerism and community service, and which provide opportunities for intellectual, moral and spiritual growth.
Gannon offers 53 Bachelor degree programs, 11 Pre-Professional programs, 8 Associate degree programs, 19 Master degree progams and 1 Doctoral degree. Gannon has been consistently ranked among the top 50 colleges and universities in the northern sector of the United States in U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges."
Gannon's signature programs, Core of Discovery and Lifecore provide students with the foundation for experiencing both the academic and co-curricular experiences of a solid college education. The Core of Discovery is Gannon’s liberal arts core curriculum that helps students understand humanity, social concepts and structures, their own ethics and values. Lifecore challenges a student's growth and development through participation of events and activities that encompass nine lifestyle dimensions.
The athletic teams at Gannon compete in the NCAA Division II, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Recent Highlights:
- Five Gannon baseball players were to the 2004 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) all-star teams.
- Recently, the Gannon men’s golf team sixth at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships
- Five Golden Knights were named to the 2004 GLIAC All-Academic Team.
- Gannon’s Jamie Taylor, a junior on the women’s golf team, was one of seven golfers honored with a $2,500 scholarship at the 2004 Michael J. Berkeley Memorial Golf Tournament on September 20 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York. The mission of the Michael J. Berkeley Foundation is to assist deserving minority youth in reaching their highest potential in the sport of golf through education, business ventures, or a professional golf career.
- Four Gannon softball players have been named to the 2004 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) all-star teams.
