Guilford College Athletics

Guilford College is described by Fiske Guide as one of the nation’s “best kept secrets” and is named as one of America’s 25 “Hottest Colleges” in the Kaplan/Newsweek How to Get Into College Guide, 2006 edition. Guilford stresses breadth and rigor in its academic program. As a Quaker-founded college, it offers an educational experience that emphasizes the study of human values and the inter-relatedness of the world’s knowledge and cultures. Guildford is located in Greensboro, NC and enrolls 2,682 students with a 16:1 student to faculty ratio.

Guildford offers 39 majors programs of study; Guilford also supports students in creating individualized programs and in selecting studies which will best contribute to their own development and interests. Faculty advisers readily assist students in exploring their interests and abilities and in relating their courses of study to future plans. Guilford deliberately offers a selection of educational experiences: courses combining lectures with discussion or laboratory; seminars demanding more direct participation by the student; and opportunities for independent study.

Guilford College athletics offers eight varsity sports for women and eight varsity sports for men. The athletic teams at Guilford compete in the NCAA Division III Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
